[31 Day Reset] Day 2: Take an Honest Assesment of Your Life

Ok, so I definitely have a love/hate relationship with myself. But at this time, I feel the hate outweighs the love, so I am on a mission to turn that around. What I like about  this day 2 assignment is that you are forced to be honest with yourself and truly recognize what you are unhappy about in your life. I recommend doing this exercise by yourself so you do not have any outside influences.
Without further a due, here is my response!

[31 Day Reset] Day 1

Choose Your Reset Notebook:
The notebook I chose is from this adorable company called Papaya Art and I found this awesome notebook called "The Inventor". I felt this was a perfect notebook not only because it goes along with the theme of my blog, but because I am at a time where I really want to reinvent my life, I want to create every aspect of it and live it the way I have always dreamed.

Choose a Personal Mantra:
I personally had a hard time doing this because there are so many inspiring saying out there. I finally chose this one because it is exactly the person I want to be.

Choose a Theme Song:
After much deliberation, I finally chose this (yes cliche, but I just can't help myself):

So I have completed day one! Comment below if you did this assignment as well and what you chose!

31 Days to Reset Your Life!

Picture from: happyblackwoman.com

A few weeks ago, I was really excited to discover this website called Happy Black Woman. The reasons why I love it so much is that the blogger, Rosetta Thurman, has made a huge and successful effort to focus on the positivity, growth, love, and success of a black woman. Don't get me wrong, I definitely feel that any woman can come on this site and get inspiration, but she mainly focuses on the personal success of black women (hence the name). I find this huge, especially with having a new African American first lady, that we as colored women need to stand up and prove that we are more than what society portrays.
So Rosetta has this free program that she encourages anyone to sign up and it is called 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge (sign up here). What will happen is you sign up and everyday, for 31 days, she will send you an email of an assignment that you need to do that day. The assignment is something that you should take out about an hour of your day for yourself; light some candles, listen to music, focus on you. I feel this is a great program because it is one of those things that if you are not honest with yourself, you will not get the benefits of this program, and being honest with yourself is the first step of personal growth.
I do plan on posting her assignments on this blog and sharing my answers with everyone, because one thing I truly want to work on, is not caring what other people think of me. So I'm gonna let it all hang out! I encourage everyone to sign up because you are never too old or young to find out something new about yourself!

Realize

I have finally come to terms with the fact that it is time for me to

a) grow up and be the mature lady I know I can be
b) learn to accept and love myself for who I am
c) create a life worth living
d) all of the above

(I'll take d. all of the above for $3,000 please.)
It is time for a change, a serious one, and I really want to document everything I go through, what I feel, lessons I learn, people I meet, and hopefully connect with other young hopefuls or wise owls that can encourage me and guide me along the way.
